Type of Auto Glass
Windshield Auto Glass
The windshield is the most important type of auto glass, as it protects drivers from the wind and provides up to 30% of the roof’s structural support. The passenger side airbags often bounce off the windshield before expanding to protect passengers. Tinted glass helps drivers see more clearly.
Rear Door Auto Glass
The front door and rear door windows can be different because of how they are tinted. In Georgia, the tinting for windows on the right and left of the driver must allow more than 32 percent of light through and reflect less than 20 percent of that light.
Back Glass
The back glass of a vehicle has the same restrictions concerning window tinting as the windshield, front and rear door auto glass.
